This was a country a global survey once found out that it was the most religious in the world. Another global survey showed that it had the most Muslim reciters of the Holy Koran in the world. But despite these glowing religious tributes, Nigeria is alleged to be edging towards the worship of the devil because of money, if the report of the Daily Trust is to be believed.

When I first read the story of the present administration signing of a $2.25 billion loan from the World Bank after agreeing to fulfil the requirements of the Samoa Island agreement, I had my doubts. And when the government first came out to deny some parts of the story, I said to myself ‘that was the end of the matter’.

But when the government continued to deny the story, as if it did not believe the first denial, then I knew something somewhere was wrong. The government even went to the trouble of ‘hiring’ some of those clerics from the two leading religions in the country, to convince their followers that the loan was devoid of any strings attached to it. 

One of such preachers told the gullible listeners that he did his ‘second degree on the Samoa Island agreement’ and there was nothing in it to distrust the Federal Government.

I should have known better than to be skeptical when I first read the story of the loan that Nigeria  was going to take from the World Bank again. The Daily Trust newspaper, where I worked for a number of years since its founding, was not known to toy with the truth, no matter who was affected.

My knowledge of the newspaper was that it reported nothing but the truth. And I rose to the positions of Group Political Editor and Group Foreign Editor, before I changed organisations and moved to another newspaper. So yours sincerely is in a pole position to know that for a fact.

The story of the US and France requesting the Federal Government to allocate lands to them to relocate their African Military bases to Northern Nigeria readily came to my mind. At first, it was vehemently denied by both Nigerian government and the governments of the two foreign countries.

Five Professors plus two other leading personalities from the north had written an open letter to the Nigerian President and the leadership of the National Assembly (NASS), pleading with them not to accede to the request of the US and France. In the open letter, the seven claimed to have incontrovertible evidence that the request had been made by the two governments.

But later, the immediate past US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard, told the world, through a media briefing, that her home country was ‘building the biggest Consulate in the world’ in the country of her posting. She gleefully said that the US was building the Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria.

This goes to prove the truism of the saying that ‘there is no smoke without fire’.

The question to ask the US Ambassador is why her country decided to build ‘the largest Consulate in the world in Nigeria, when the country was not the US’s biggest trade partner in the world or its best diplomatic friend in the world?

Almost everyone knows that the big powers, US in particular, use their consulates to ‘hide’ rogue elements, agents and or soldiers who secretly entered a country without the knowledge or permission of the host, for a sinister purpose. The US is notorious for organising and executing a so called regime change to install a puppet that would always do its bidding no matter how dirty that might be.

President Jonathan, who is a good Christian, refused to sign the Samoa Island agreement, even at the possibility of losing his seat in the then forthcoming presidential election of 2015. The Samoa Island agreement was signed between the World Bank and the Samoa Island government in 2014, to make it mandatory for any country wishing to access the loan facility of the bank must internalise the recognition of the LGBTQ+ in the constitution of that country and NOT discriminate against members of the deviant group.

But the country’s present leadership of a Muslim President, Muslim Vice President, Muslim Minister of Budget and Muslim chairman of the ruling party, have signed the loan, and with it, the agreement to recognise and legitimise the debased LGBTQ+, without harassment or discrimination of the members in any form. 

For those who do not know what LGBTQ+ stands for, it is simply the way of the devil. The full meaning is Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) individuals, which is tantamount to the worship of the devil.

The Western World is very good at doing the bidding of the devil while rejecting the injunctions of God, the Almighty. In addition to LGBTQ+, the West also supports the so called ‘sex education’ to minors, but oppose the marriage of teen girls, even if it is with their consent. The ‘sex education’ is said to include ‘safe sex’, abortion and other abominable acts not condoned by God-fearing societies. 

Three governors, from Benue, Kaduna and Adamawa states were said to have written to the President to express their opposition to the alleged loan and whatthat over their dead bodies would such a condemnable and reprehensible act be carried out in their states. Three others who were expected to oppose it were however, mute. They were alleged to be more concerned with the (1) Sallah celebration, (2) the appointment of emirs and (3) the appointment of district heads in their respective states.

It is the understanding of most people that the supporters LGBTQ+ are in two categories. They are either themselves members of the group who are still ‘in the closet’, or those who will worship the devil if doing so would get them money and or remain relevant in the society. There is a preponderance of very rich people on these shores whose sources of income are not known or well understood. There is also the penchant for the accumulation of money and its unnecessary celebration, regardless of how it was made. 

Two things most people are sure of, are that the LGBTQ+ is against God, and that in Nigeria, some people would do anything for money and or to remain relevant in the government or society, including the direct worship of the devil.

It is the view of this writer and many others that there should be no justification for supporting LGBTQ+ in Nigeria, whatsoever.
